Huskies Tie Mercyhurst, Win Shootout
UConn women's hockey skated to a 1-1 draw with the Mercyhurst Lakers on Friday afternoon at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
The game saw both goals scored on the power play, sending it to overtime and eventually a shootout, where the Huskies won 2-0.
Mercyhurst opened the scoring on the power play five minutes into the first period, but UConn dominated the faceoff circle in the second period, consistently winning possession to maintain offensive pressure.
The result moves the Huskies to 4-2-1 overall this season.
