Lakers' Jaxson Hayes Sits Out Against Timberwolves

autor: brief summary.

The Lakers were down another big man for Friday night's home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jaxson Hayes was ruled out for the playoff rematch against the Timberwolves because of left knee soreness.

Coach JJ Redick said Hayes was being downgraded to unavailable after being downgraded to questionable Friday morning. With Maxi Kleber sidelined for at least the next couple of weeks because of a strained oblique, Hayes was the primary backup big man behind starting center Deandre Ayton in Tuesday's season-opening loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Hayes recorded four points and six rebounds in 14 minutes in the season-opening loss. The Lakers made two-way center Christian Koloko available against the Timberwolves in light of the hit to their big man depth.
