Ministry Issues Guidelines on New Curriculum
The Ministry of Education has issued a circular with guidelines regarding the new curriculum reforms set to take effect for Grade 1 and Grade 6 starting from next year.
The overall education reform process is structured around 5 key pillars:
- curriculum development
- human resource development
- infrastructure development and educational administration reforms
- assessment and evaluation
- public awareness and promotion
The primary sector curriculum (Grades 1-5) will be activity-based, structured under 9 main common learning areas.
