Man Dead in Shooting at Gas Station on Kentucky Avenue
A man was critically injured in a shooting at a gas station on the city's southwest side, according to Indianapolis police.
IMPD Southwest District officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 4700 block of Kentucky Avenue, where a Marathon gas station is located near Indianapolis International Airport.
A 911 caller reported a person down in the gas station's parking lot. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds, who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and later died.
Multiple persons of interest have been detained, but their involvement in the incident is unknown. IMPD detectives recovered multiple shell casings from the scene.
