Yorgos Lanthimos Takes a Break from Filmmaking
Yorgos Lanthimos, a 5x Oscar nominee, is set to release his latest film, Bugonia, on October 31, starring Emma Stone.
After releasing award-worthy films for three consecutive years, Lanthimos feels the need for a break. He admitted to Collider:
I need “a little break”
Despite intending to take breaks after his previous films, Poor Things (2023) and Kinds of Kindness (2024), he now feels it's necessary. Lanthimos added:
Well, I can’t keep doing that anymore. [Laughs] That’s what we’re certain of right now
He emphasized his seriousness about taking a break this time, stating:
It’s a big mistake. I’ve said that before in between the other three, but I’m serious now. I’m going to take a little break. Hold me to it
