The San Jose Sharks' game against the Minnesota team was expected to be another story of blown leads, but Macklin Celebrini saved the day with a 6-5 OT victory.
Despite dominating the first period 2-0, the Sharks allowed the opposing team to catch up due to errors, including a high-sticking penalty by Vincent Iorio and an unforced error between Tyler Toffoli and Vincent Desharnais.
"That was our own doing," said San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky. "That's one big lesson."
The same pattern repeated in the third period, but the Sharks managed to regain their lead. However, the team's tendency to shoot themselves in the foot is still a concern in their quest for winning hockey.
