Apple to Introduce Digital Passport IDs in Wallet
Apple will soon introduce a feature in Apple Wallet, allowing U.S. users to create a digital ID using their passport for domestic travel at select TSA checkpoints.
The feature, initially announced as part of the iOS 26 release, expands Wallet's capabilities beyond payments and ticket storage to securely store digital identities.
- Support for government IDs in Apple Wallet has rolled out to 12 states and Puerto Rico.
- The passport-tied Digital ID feature will arrive in a future software update.
