Ismail Alexandrani, an Egyptian freelance investigative journalist, has been held for the past month.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) demands his immediate release, as his provisional detention on charges of “terrorism” and “spreading false news” was extended for 15 days on 19 October.
Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.
Alexandrani was arrested on 24 September and is currently being held on the outskirts of Cairo.
RSF produces daily publications, investigation reports, and a world press freedom ranking, with the help of its regional offices and network of correspondents in 115 countries.
