Egyptian Journalist Ismail Alexandrani Detained for a Month
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) demands the immediate release of Ismail Alexandrani, an Egyptian freelance investigative journalist.
Alexandrani was arrested on 24 September and his provisional detention was extended for 15 days on 19 October on trumped-up charges of “terrorism” and “spreading false news” in Facebook posts.
Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.
RSF supports freedom of information and publishes daily reports from its regional offices and network of correspondents in 115 countries.
Alexandrani is currently held on the outskirts of Cairo, and RSF calls for his immediate release.
