Jets Mum on Reasoning Behind Captain's Benching
The New York Jets have declined to disclose the reason behind the quarter-long benching of one of their highest-paid players, linebacker Jamien Sherwood.
Sherwood, a defensive captain, was benched in the first quarter of the team's 39-38 comeback win over the Cincinnati Bengals, with fifth-round rookie Kiko Mauigoa taking his place alongside All-Pro Quincy Williams.
