Supervisor Felipe Hernandez to Host BESS Town Hall
Santa Cruz County Supervisor Felipe Hernandez will host a town hall meeting to discuss potential rules for battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The meeting, scheduled for 5:30-7pm, will take place in the Watsonville City Council chambers at 275 Main St. Hernandez will discuss a potential new ordinance to govern safety, transparency, and ensure local control for new BESS locations, including a facility planned for Minto Road in Watsonville.
The supervisors are scheduled to review the Draft BESS Ordinance at their November 18 Board meeting.
