Steal a Brainrot Roblox Game Creator Sues Fortnite Creative Copycat

Spyder Games, the developer behind the viral hit Steal a Brainrot on Roblox, is suing a Fortnite Creative copycat game for copyright infringement.

As noted by Aftermath, Spyder Games filed a lawsuit in California, accusing Thomas Van Der Voort of copying its "artwork, objects, design, and game elements" for the Fortnite Creative game, Stealing Brainrots.

The similarities between the game and the infringing game are not coincidental.

The lawsuit claims that the similarities are not merely the result of the games existing in the same genre or dictated by function, but rather a result of conscious decisions to copy the creative choices and unique designs implemented in the game.

Spyder Games secured the copyright for Steal a Brainrot in August, after launching the game in May 2025.
