AFC Bournemouth's Journey
Abby Jones, the 22-year-old skipper, admitted it was 'surreal' to see how far the Cherries have come in the nine years she has been with the club.
It's crazy to think nine years ago I started when I was 13 and as soon as I turned 16 I went into the women's team, and I think that's such a surreal moment for me to know that I'm still here nine years later.
Jones has been a part of a meteoric rise to the third tier of the women's game, with the women's team developing hugely in that time.
- She first joined AFC Bournemouth as a 13-year-old.
- Moved into the first team when she was just 16.
- The team has access to a performance centre for training.
Jones noted the team's development, from borrowing kit from the men's team to receiving their own.
We're so lucky to be able to use this performance centre as well, where we train, have such good access to so many different things to help us out.
