Etsy Names New CEO
Etsy's long-time CEO, Josh Silverman, is stepping down by the end of the year.
Kruti Patel Goyal, Etsy's president and chief growth officer, will become the company's next CEO, replacing Silverman.
- Silverman will become executive chairman after heading the marketplace for eight years.
- Goyal worked at Etsy for over 10 years before becoming CEO of Depop, a social-commerce platform acquired by Etsy four years ago.
- Goyal has been in her current role for about seven months.
Etsy faces challenges in growing its business, with a 5% decline in active buyers to 86.6 million in the third quarter ended September 30.
No comment from the company on the expectations from Goyal.
