B.C. Premier David Eby and Energy Minister Adrian Dix are proposing significant changes to energy policy to capitalize on the province's valuable asset: electricity.

Eby said, emphasizing the need for clean, reliable, and affordable power to gain an edge in the global economy.
The proposed changes aim to electrify emission-intensive industries, such as mining and liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, and ports for shipping goods overseas.
However, energy experts are skeptical about the plan, questioning whether powering megaprojects is truly in B.C.'s interest.
