Afghan Transit Cargo Causes Port Congestion

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry stated that Afghan transit containers are causing congestion at the port.

Even if port operations come to a halt, we are ready to make this sacrifice, because certain elements are playing a role in undermining the country.

The minister added that resolving this issue will ease pressure on the port. He made these remarks at the Maritime Week inaugural ceremony held at Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

The federal minister also announced that Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) will add 30 more ships to its fleet of 10 vessels within the next year.
