Mini Globe Race 2025: Challenges on the Way to Cape Town
The 2025 Mini Globe Race (MGR) fleet is facing a demanding challenge: a 1,700-mile passage from Mauritius to Durban, South Africa.
After a stopover, the eleven remaining Globe 580 yachts started this leg on October 25th, dubbed "No Place to Hide" due to powerful Agulhas currents and unpredictable weather.
A stark reminder of the dangers sailors face at sea was when veteran sailor Eric Marsh was swept overboard from his boat, SUNBEAR, but managed to return after several attempts.
