Plane Crash Near Fort Worth's Hicks Airfield
A twin-engine plane crashed near Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth, killing two people and igniting a fire that damaged at least ten semi-trucks.
The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. in the 12700 block of N. Saginaw Blvd., near Avondale, and involved a King Air Twin Engine Aircraft that had departed Alliance Airport.
- Two individuals were pronounced deceased on scene.
- At least ten tractor trailers were damaged by the crash and caught fire, sparking grass fires that were all contained.
- The fire was brought under control in 35 minutes at 2:11 P.M.
The Fort Worth Fire Department dispatched 10 firetrucks, 14 support vehicles, and three ambulances to the location.
