State Rests Case Against Donna Adelson
The state has rested its case against Donna Adelson, marking the end of a week-long series of witness testimonies in her murder and conspiracy trial.
Chief Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman announced the conclusion of the state's case, stating
“And with that, the State rests.”
Over the course of six days, prosecutors called 26 witnesses to the stand, including personal testimony from two of Donna's children and technical breakdowns of phone records and wiretapped phone calls.
- The state is seeking a fifth conviction in the 2014 murder-for-hire of Dan Markel.
- Notably, Donna's son Charlie Adelson was not called as a witness, although the state may still call him during their rebuttal.
The defense will begin its case on Tuesday morning.
