Dockworkers at the Port of Rotterdam have returned to work after a court ordered a temporary end to their strike, which had disrupted cargo operations for nearly a week.
The strike, which began on Wednesday, was called by dockworkers employed by ILS and Matrans, who are seeking a new collective labor agreement. The workers, known as sjorders or lashers, are responsible for fastening and unfastening containers.
The court also said the strike may resume on Friday morning if talks fail to produce an agreement.
Author's summary: Dockworkers' strike suspended until Friday.
