Maryland and Constellation Reach $340 Million Conowingo Dam Deal

Maryland Governor Wes Moore has announced a $340 million agreement between the state and Constellation Energy to secure a long-term license for the Conowingo Dam.

The agreement clears the way for the continued operation of the 573MW Conowingo Dam, the largest source of renewable power in Maryland, and establishes enforceable water quality standards.

"The Chesapeake Bay is the keystone to Maryland’s prosperity," said Gov. Wes Moore.

The agreement was reached in coordination with Waterkeepers Chesapeake and the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association.
