Rotterdam Man Sentenced to 18 Years for Raping Teen
A 37-year-old Rotterdam man, Michael Randy Rabine, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for forcing a teen to have sex with him.
Rabine pleaded guilty to first-degree rape in Schenectady County Court, admitting to forcing a person to have sexual contact, according to the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation began when the teenage victim, who knew Rabine, told her mother about the abuse. The victim reported that Rabine started raping her at the age of 14, forcing her to have sexual intercourse and perform sex acts on him.
Rabine claimed that a man named “Ricky” would kill him if she did not comply, but prosecutors found that “Ricky” did not exist.
The sentence was handed down after Rabine's guilty plea last month.
