MCC eSports Wins Fall 2025 Mario Kart 8DX D2 National Championship
The Marshalltown Community College (MCC) eSports program has risen to national prominence in just over three years, winning national championships and defeating larger schools.
Last weekend, the MCC Mario Kart team achieved a major milestone, finishing an 11-0 season and winning the Fall 2025 8DX Division National Championship.
Members of the team include Tess Pacza, Dimitri Petrimeas, Ryne Erickson, Jacob Eirikson, Roby Widner, and Pete Perkins, alongside Director of eSports Andrew Goforth and Coach Nate Rodemeyer.
The team's success is an underdog story, with MCC defeating several larger schools to claim the championship.
