The Brenham Toastmasters group hosted its first official meeting on Monday. Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs, with approximately 270,000 members.
Attendees at Monday's charter meeting included Brenham Mayor Atwood Kenjura, Brenham City Manager Carolyn Miller, Brenham City Councilmember Dr. Paul LaRoche III, and Burton City Councilmember Jeff Eckhardt.
The group meets Monday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Brenham Police Department. All are welcome to attend or join. Membership details include international dues of $60 every six months, plus a new member fee of $25.
