LPD Hosts "Coffee with a Cop" Event
The Lawton Police Department (LPD) held a "Coffee with a Cop" outreach event at Chick-fil-A to strengthen community ties.
The event allowed people to interact with officers in an informal setting, asking questions and getting answers.
It was great because a lot of people were just surprised to have somebody bring their order to them — me, as police officer, bring order to them — and there’s a way to talk to him kind of mingle with them they asked questions, get the answers to the questions.
According to Sgt. Chris Daniels of the LPD, events like these show the department's commitment to the community and are enjoyable for everyone involved.
The event also provided entertainment for children on fall break.
