GPE gets planning for reworked London Bridge office revamp

GPE Gets Planning for Reworked London Bridge Office Revamp

A retrofit-first redesign of an 11-storey office building in London Bridge has received planning approval from Southwark councillors.

The project, which will retain and extend the existing 1980s structure, will create a new 11-storey office building with landscaped roof terraces and balconies.

The redesign was redrawn after councillors ordered changes due to concerns over the scheme's impact on nearby heritage buildings, including the grade II-listed Guy's Hospital.

The revamp will restore the historic St Thomas Street frontage and refurbish a Georgian terrace to create affordable workspace.

GPE will now tender the project, with the goal of reducing embodied carbon and construction waste by reusing the original concrete frame.
