Manchester United's Academy as a Solution
A "highly rated" Manchester United youngster could be the answer to Rúben Amorim's biggest problem. The club's academy has a long history of producing talented players, with at least one academy graduate in every matchday squad since October 1937.
Despite Amorim's experience with young players at Sporting CP, where he gave debuts to 27 academy products in over four years, there is currently a lack of academy players in United's first team. This is due in part to the summer transfers of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.
- Kobbie Mainoo is the most likely academy graduate to become a regular player at Old Trafford.
- However, displacing Bruno Fernandes in the double pivot will be a challenging task.
If United chooses not to make any transfers in the January window, Amorim may turn to the academy to solve some first-team problems.
