Sixteen individuals are presumed dead after an explosion in Hickman County, according to Sheriff Chris Davis.

The number of unaccounted individuals decreased from 18 to 16, after two people believed to be on site were found to be safe. The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency reported this update.

More than 300 personnel have searched the property, but no survivors have been found, confirmed Sheriff Chris Davis of the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office. The families of all 16 victims have been notified.

Officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are still investigating the cause of the explosion, as stated during a press conference Saturday afternoon.

The State Emergency Operations Center in Nashville is activated at Level 4 – Elevated to coordinate assistance and resources for local authorities.
