On November 4, voters in the West Bloomfield School District will decide on a 1.552 millage for a 10-year sinking fund.
The sinking fund would pay for timely updates for students and staff's computer devices and continue to invest in security, including measures like the locks on all classroom doors throughout the district.
The current sinking fund, which paid for the locks on all classroom doors, is set to expire, and the new fund would replace a 14-year millage approved by voters in 2013 at the same millage rate.
If approved, the new fund will continue the current millage rate for another 10 years.
The doors can be locked from within with a quick turn of the thumb, and the lock indicates when the door is locked or unlocked.
