Farage proposed a 10-minute rule bill to withdraw from the ECHR, but was heckled by Labour and Lib Dem MPs as he delivered his proposal.
MP: "Putin's pet!" Farage: "It's marvellous to see the intellectual levels of debate in this place, it really is"
The proposal was comfortably defeated by 154 votes to 96, a majority of 58.
