Westport Claims Victory Over Ballyhaunis in Mayo Rugby Derby
Westport dominated the Connacht Rugby Junior 1B League match, scoring five tries and limiting Ballyhaunis to just one score.
The match, played on a dry and mild Saturday evening, saw a convincing performance from Westport from start to finish. Centre Harry Sheridan was instrumental, earning him the man-of-the-match title, particularly for his impressive try in the first half.
He ran a perfect line and galloped through the Ballyhaunis defensive line, then danced around the last defenders to touch down between the posts.
Westport's fly-half Stephen Loftus also played a key role, consistently booting the ball deep into the opposition's territory whenever he spotted space.
