Shotgun in a Bag Leads to Charges for Greater Sudbury Trio

Three people are facing weapons charges after an early morning firearms complaint in Val Caron on Sunday, November 2.

Greater Sudbury Police received a call at around 6:15 a.m. regarding a weapons complaint outside a residence on Municipal Road 80 in Val Caron. The complaint stated that three individuals were outside a home in possession of a firearm.

“Officers attended the area and upon seeing police, the individuals fled on foot,”

according to the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS). Two individuals, a 52-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, were immediately taken into custody. The third individual fled into the bush and had to be taken into custody by the tactical unit after hiding inside a house.

At the scene, police found a bag containing a shotgun, which the suspects had dropped when they spotted police and fled.
