UK Government Names Preferred Candidate for Charity Commission Chair
Dame Julia Unwin is the UK Government’s preferred candidate for the Charity Commission for England and Wales Chair, announced Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy.
Dame Julia Unwin has a long career in the voluntary sector, serving on the Boards of regulatory and government bodies, including five years as a Charity Commissioner.

- Chief Executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation from 2007-2016
- Chaired the Civil Society Futures Inquiry, reporting in 2018
- Awarded a DBE in 2019 for services to civil society
