Election Roundup: Lumberton City Council
Lumberton City Council members Melissa Robinson, John Carroll, John Cantey, and Owen Thomas have been reelected.
Each candidate was the only name on the ballot and won by a wide margin.
- John Cantey won in Precinct 5 with 202 votes, over 88% of the total.
- Write-in candidates Keith Copeland and Darryl Genus combined for 27 votes.
“First and foremost, I’d like to thank God, all of our church families, civic groups and especially the residents of Precinct 5 for entrusting me to a sixth term as their representative,”
said Cantey, the senior member of Lumberton City Council, who has served since 2005.
