Release of Israeli Hostages in Gaza
Seven Israeli hostages have been freed in Gaza and are now with the Israeli military, the IDF confirmed, among loud cheers in Hostages Square as news of the release emerged.
Hamas has released a list of the 20 living hostages being freed today, who have been held in Gaza since the 7 October attacks in 2023.
In exchange for the hostages, Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners and more than 1,700 detainees. The bodies of 28 who were killed following the attacks are to be returned in stages over the next 10 days.
