Village of Rockton Welcomes New Administrator
The Village of Rockton has hired a new administrator, Happy Welch, who brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Welch started his career as a building inspector and moved up to building official, before becoming a city administrator in 2006.
"I wanted to have more responsibility and provide more direction to the city I was working for so the next step was city administrator,"
Welch said. He has served in five municipalities, providing guidance and leadership with a servant/leadership style of management.
His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in communications and public relations from Wichita State University, as well as certifications in planning and zoning, building construction, and management training.
Additionally, the Village of Rockton is hiring for two more positions: a community outreach/special event coordinator and an economic development coordinator.
