A Sarasota police officer has earned the title of “kitty whisperer” after rescuing a tiny kitten trapped in a car’s wheel well on Highway 301 in Florida.
According to the Sarasota Police Department, the frightened kitten ran across the highway and attempted to hide under a stopped vehicle. The driver alerted the officer, who then rescued the kitten.
A bodycam video, released by the police department, showed the driver of the stopped car alerting the officer of the kitten running underneath his vehicle and not coming out.
The officer's actions have been recognized as a heroic act, earning the officer a respectful title.
