The Rowan County Championships for cross country were held on Saturday morning at Dan Nicholas Park, proving to be a successful move.
“It turned out that we had phenomenal weather conditions to compete in,” South coach Trent Rivers said. “There were some great times run by a lot of guys. Most of our runners had PRs.”
The new schedule allowed for better competition, as most big meets, such as regionals and states, are run on Saturdays. The Raiders took advantage of this, winning their seventh team championship in the last eight seasons.
