Plane Crash on Highway in Dartmouth
A small airplane crashed onto Interstate 195 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, during Monday morning rush hour, killing two people from Rhode Island on board.
The crash occurred as a nor'easter was hitting the area with rain and strong winds. Despite the severity of the incident, no motorists on the highway were seriously injured, according to New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell.
A woman whose car was struck by debris was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, state police reported. The plane's fuselage was found resting on its side, with black smoke billowing from the scene and rubble scattered across the grassy median and nearby forest.
