Republicans in Disarray Over 'No Kings' Rally
The upcoming "No Kings" rally has sparked fear among Republican lawmakers, who are scrambling to defend themselves.
The rally, scheduled to take place on Saturday across the country, including on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol, has been described by many GOP lawmakers as an astroturfed political operation meant to benefit Democrats.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said, "This is about one thing and one thing only: To score political points with the terrorist wing of their party, which is set to hold—a 'hate America' rally in D.C. next week."
Some in party leadership have falsely branded the rally as a pro-terrorism demonstration, in an attempt to get ahead of a potentially massive protest against the president.
