President Dallin H. Oaks has been announced as the 18th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In a live broadcast from the Conference Center on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, President Oaks named President Henry B. Eyring as his first counselor and President D. Todd Christofferson as his second counselor.
I accept with humility the responsibility that God has placed upon me and commit my whole heart and soul to the service to which I have been called.
President Oaks also bore testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ, after an extended period of fasting and prayer.
