The government shutdown, now in its third week, continues to disrupt Congress' schedule, with canceled hearings and markups, and stalled work on appropriations and permitting reform.
Lawmakers are no closer to a funding deal, and other priorities, such as energy and environmental issues, are being neglected.
"We're not in a good mood here in the Capitol,"
said Speaker Mike Johnson, accusing Democrats of prolonging the shutdown.
The House is expected to remain out of session for the week, while the Senate will return on Tuesday to vote on failed funding bills.
