UMD Football Upset by Northern State
The UMD football team, with its highest ranking since 2018, visited Northern State but lost 34-31.
Although UMD didn't score first, Northern State led 20-10 at halftime. In the third quarter, Daniel Britt's fake handoff and pass to DJ Smith made it 27-17.
UMD cut the deficit to three, but Britt's 28-yard run increased the lead to 10. With under two minutes left, Kyle Walljasper found Luke Dehnicke in the endzone.
After recovering an onside kick, UMD attacked again, but an interception ended their chances, resulting in back-to-back series losses for the first time since 2000.
