AG Wilson Questions Legality of Hate Crime Ordinances in SC

However, Attorney General Alan Wilson has issued an opinion suggesting these local measures may not withstand legal scrutiny.
Micah Caskey, a Republican from District 89, supports Wilson's stance.
Caskey argues that judges in South Carolina can already consider hate as a factor during sentencing, and local ordinances could complicate legal proceedings.
