Fentanyl Overdoses on the Rise in Las Vegas
Despite a 27% drop in overdose deaths in most states in 2024, Nevada continues to experience an uptick, with 802 drug overdoses in Clark County last year, over 400 of which were attributed to fentanyl.
The synthetic opioid remains the leading cause of fatal overdoses, with fentanyl-involved deaths surging 699.8% in the last six years, according to the Southern Nevada Health District.
Many people are only a few degrees of separation from knowing someone who’s died! of a drug-related overdose or nearly has.
