Apple to Introduce Digital U.S. Passport Feature on iPhone
According to Jennifer Bailey, vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, a digital version of the U.S. passport will soon be available on iPhone.
Bailey reiterated that the feature is coming soon during her keynote at the Money20/20 USA conference in Las Vegas.
The feature, initially delayed, is now expected to be released later this year, as stated on Apple's iOS 26 page. However, it is unclear whether a software update, such as iOS 26.1 or iOS 26.2, will be required to use the feature.
- Users will be able to create a digital passport in the Wallet app.
- The digital passport can be presented at TSA checkpoints in select U.S. airports for identity verification purposes during domestic travel.
