Rolls-Royce Achieves World First with Methanol Engine
Rolls-Royce Power Systems has successfully tested a high-speed marine engine powered exclusively by methanol, a major milestone in climate-neutral propulsion solutions.
"This is a genuine world first," said Dr. Jörg Stratmann, CEO of Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.
The engine was tested on a bench in Friedrichshafen, Germany, as part of the meOHmare research project, funded by the German Government.
