Sheinbaum Faces Criticism for Flood Response
President Claudia Sheinbaum faced criticism from residents and reporters regarding the government's response to the floods that have claimed over 60 lives across four states.
The flooding has affected Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, and Querétaro, with a death toll of 64 and 65 people missing, according to National Civil Protection chief Laura Velázquez.
Sheinbaum acknowledged that the federal National Disasters Fund (Fonden) no longer exists
Despite this, Sheinbaum asserted that there is sufficient money in the budget to provide support to respond to the flooding.
