A new First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been selected and will be announced at Temple Square at 1 p.m.
The First Presidency, the Church's highest governing body, consists of three apostles, including the President of the Church and his two counselors.
The last First Presidency was dissolved after the passing of President Russell M. Nelson, who served as the Church's leader from 2018 until his passing on September 27, 2025.
According to tradition, President Dallin H. Oaks, the senior-most member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, is expected to be selected as Nelson's successor as the President of the Church.
