After years of hoping, Cat Wrangler Productions stages Pulitzer prize-winning show about an invisible rabbit.
This weekend, October 17-19, Cat Wrangler Productions proudly presents “Harvey” by Mary Chase at the Belfield Theater. According to Director Jackie Hope, the cast is a blend of stage veterans and new faces — a group that made the realization of a long-time dream possible.
Set in the forties, the show centers around Elwood P. Elwood has made it his habit to introduce everyone he meets to his best friend, who is a 6’1” invisible rabbit named Harvey. This habit is both embarrassing and concerning for Elwood’s sister, Veta Louise Simmons, played by Margaret Barnhart.
When she attempts to check her brother into the sanitarium, confusion ensues and a comedy of errors is set in motion.
“Harvey” originally premiered on Broadway in 1944, and for it, Mary Chase won the 1945 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
