A full-sister to the great Equinox has kicked off her career with an impressive victory in the 2000-metre 2YO Newcomer event on turf at Tokyo.
Trained by Tetsuya Kimura, the same trainer who worked with Equinox, the filly named Exceed was sent off at $1.70 and won by a length and a half in a time of 2:00.2 with Christophe Lemaire in the saddle.
She's well-built for a filly and shows sharp acceleration. Her gestures and sensitivity remind me of her brother when he was young, she's alert and quick to respond. She's a very exciting prospect with great potential.
According to stable representative Kimiya, Exceed has great potential and resembles her brother Equinox in her early development.
Author's summary: Equinox's sister wins debut race.
